Agartala, October 17, 2019: Tripura unit of CPI-M today came down heavily on the BJP-led State government over the Badal Chowdhury issue relating to an alleged corruption case and said that they would fight the issue ‘politically’ and ‘legally’.

CPI-M State secretary Gautam Das minced no words to castigate the state government for pursuing ‘political vendetta’ and ‘curtailing all rights’.

Das addressing the media alleged that the present case of financial irregularities against Badal Chowdhury was politically motivated and ‘baseless. He argued that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) as well as the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the state assembly had cleared the developmental projects for which the incumbent BJP-led government accusing the previous Left government and ex-Minister Badal Chowdhury.

He alleged, BJP-led Government has hatched conspiracy against the previous LF government to divert people’s attention from present government’s non-performance and failure to fulfil pre-poll promises.
