March 28, 2018: Hundreds of people, allegedly supporters of BJP have gheraoed today CPIM’s Divisional Office at Bishalgarh under Sepahijala District and the Office is still gheraoed according to information available till 11pm. Tension in the area is palpable.
Strongly condemning the gherao by BJP activists, CPIM issued a statement in which it was mentioned that former minister Bhanulal Saha, CPIM Sepahijala district president Gora Chakraborty, party’s Bishalgarh sub-divisional secretary Siddikur Rahman and woman leader along with several party workers were inside the party office when the BJP activists gheraoed it.
Large contingent of Police led the top Officials are at the spot.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed sources said, people identifying themselves as BJP activists started gherao programme at 6pm alleging the large cache of arms and ammunitions were piled up inside the Office – agitators wanted to raid the office along with Police.
However, what actually prompted agitators to gherao the CPIM Party Office is yet to be known and authenticated.
