March 08, 2018: For the first time in the history of the State, Lotus will bloom officially tomorrow (March 9) after a grand swearing-in ceremony in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi and All India BJP president Amit Shah along with a galaxy of high-profile political personalities of the country, Spiritual leaders and other eminent persons will be present.
Biplab Deb will be the tenth Chief Minister of the State. After taking the oath, he along with other elected members will go to State Secretariat in the evening, sources said.
All India BJP president Amit Shah has already arrived in Agartala today. Moreover, all members of BJP Parliamentary Board and Chief Ministers of BJP ruled States will attend the grand swearing-in ceremony.
Chief Minister designate Biplab Deb and Dy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma along with other members of the State Cabinet will be administered oath by the Governor Tathagata Roy. Speculations are running high about the new cabinet, however, no official statements have been made so far.
Meanwhile, Biplab Deb today visited CPIM State Office and invited LF leaders and former Ministers to attend the oath taking ceremony. “The former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and his other colleagues will attend the ceremony, however LF leaders will refrain from attending the programme protesting against State-wide violence unleashed by BJP-IPFT on LF supporters”, said State CPIM secretary Bijan Dhar.
