February 09, 2018: Miscreants today unleashed violence in two places under Takarjala Assembly Constituency in West District leaving several persons including Police personnel injured.
Sources alleged, supporters of BJP’s ally IPFT(NC) launched attacks on CPIM nominated candidate while he was conducting Poll campaign in his constituency. It is reported, IPFT goons went berserk and ransacked the CPIM candidate’s vehicle. IPFT supporters reportedly created violence at Takarjala and Amarendranagar today on Leftists.
Infamously known as trouble maker, IPFT got a boost in their arms after recently BJP forged alliance with IPFT, alleged local people. During last election, people overwhelmingly returned IPFT in empty hand indicating utter rejection. However, in the run up to State Assembly elections, IPFT supporters attacked GMP – tribal wing of CPIM – supporters mercilessly injuring large number of GMP supporters.
“IPFT supporters created troubles today to terrorise the voters. Today’s unprovoked attacks on CPIM during election campaign will surely tarnish the image of BJP for forging alliance with IPFT – known for its leaders’ incapability to control its unruly supporters”, local people alleged.
