Agartala, Apr 18, 2020: In view of coronavirus scare and subsequent lockdown Tripura government has decided to promote all students of Class I to IX and XI to next class this year.
Moreover, Tripura Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) scheduled on April 22 and 23 have been deferred. Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this today.
Nath said the scrutiny of papers of TBSE-conducted Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations would commence from April 24 next in 13 centres.
Speaking to media, Ratan Lal Nath said, “In case of Class XI, the examinations on three subjects- Sociology, Statistics and Music could not be conducted. The examinations will not be conducted. But evaluation will be done based on the marks obtained by the students in half-yearly examination.”
He said the marks obtained by each and every student would be evaluated although the state government declared to promote them in next class.
“All Head Masters have been asked through District Education Officers (DEOs) to upload marks obtained by the students of all schools in the App of Education department,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Education minister said routine online coaching through 14 cable channels would commence from Sunday so that the learning process of students is not disrupted during the lockdown. The online classes have already been started in 22 Degree Colleges and 7 Technical Colleges.
The officials of Education department, he said, would hold talks with the authority of MBB University about the examinations of second and fourth semesters.
