February 01, 2018: Hailing achievements of LF Government in Tripura, CPIM Politburo member Prakash Karat today accused Central Government of using its machinery to dislodge LF Government. However, he asserted that BJP’s tactics would not work in Tripura. He also said, people of the State would make BJP to realize that ousting LF from Tripura is nothing but a mere dream. He also said, BJP’s popularity is waning countrywide because of its anti-people policies.

“People struggled for 70 years and brought Leftists in power for 7th term and determined to form CPIM led LF Government for 8th term”, he said.

Prakash Karat today addressed an election rally in support of CPIM candidates of Sabroom and Manu in South Tripura District. In the last Assembly Polls, CPIM candidates won from both the seats and this time of those two winning candidates are in fray.

Highlighting CPIM-led Govt’s pro-people policies, Prakash Karat said, the Government in Tripura worked hard for development of Tribal and farmers – while ensuring Farmers’ development was a priority, LF Government also focused on distributing land rights – Patta – to tribal people and help them to lead a dignified life.

Launching attacks against Modi-led Government,  Karat said, the economic parameters in the country are in bad shape and affecting the lives of common people including the people of Tripura.  He compared socio-economic conditions of tribal people, farmers and common people of Tripura with other BJP ruled states and said, while Tripura Government had distributed land rights to tribal people, in BJP ruled states, tribals are forcefully evicted from land. Other sections of the society, in BJP ruled States, are falling victims to several types of discrimination, Karat alleged.
