In his latest election affidavit filed for the Binnakandi Assembly constituency, the perfume tycoon-turned-politician disclosed assets surpassing Rs 169 crore.
This marks a staggering trajectory of wealth accumulation that has more than tripled over the last decade.
While Ajmal’s influence primarily centers on the Bengali-speaking Muslim pockets of Assam, his financial stature resonates across the region, including North Tripura.

According to the official filing, Ajmal’s wealth is heavily concentrated in real estate and diverse investments.
- Movable Assets: Approximately Rs 52.43 crore, comprising shares, business ventures, vehicles, and jewelry.
- Immovable Assets: A massive Rs 149.12 crore, featuring agricultural and non-agricultural land, plus residential properties in Hojai, Guwahati, and Karnataka.
- Annual Income: Reported at Rs 3.21 crore for the 2024–25 financial year.
- Liabilities: Over Rs 4.45 crore, primarily consisting of institutional loans.
- In contrast, his spouse, Rizwaana Badruddin Ajmal, maintains a more modest portfolio with movable assets of roughly Rs 31.08 lakh and immovable property valued at Rs 6.82 lakh.
