Synopsis by enewstime: Amidst ongoing ethnic unrest and challenges in Manipur, 44 students under the Indian Army-led Manipur Super-50 programme achieved notable success in the NEET and JEE 2025 examinations. The Indian Army, in collaboration with NIEDO, has been providing free, high-quality coaching to underprivileged yet meritorious students at the Red Shield Centre for Excellence and Wellness.

While the resilience of the students received applause for their success, the guardians of the successful candidates expressed their sincere gratitude to Indian Army.

The Indian Army on Tuesday honoured 44 students from Manipur who successfully qualified in the NEET and JEE 2025 examinations after receiving training under the ‘Manipur Super-50’ programme at the Red Shield Centre for Excellence and Wellness, according to official sources.

Defence spokesperson Lt Col Amit Shukla stated that six students among the group cleared both national-level entrance tests. Notably, Philem Jenin Singh emerged as one of the state’s NEET toppers, securing an impressive 97.06 percentile.

The ‘Manipur Super-50’ is a collaborative initiative between the Indian Army and the National Integrity and Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO), designed to offer free, quality coaching and mentoring to academically talented youth from economically weaker sections of the state.

According to Lt Col Shukla, the programme has played a transformative role in helping students gain admission to top-tier medical and engineering institutions nationwide.

Out of the 44 students, 37 cleared NEET this year, a feat Lt Col Shukla described as a major milestone for the initiative.

He noted that many of these students prepared under extremely challenging circumstances, often in the face of societal disruptions, yet remained unwavering in their pursuit of academic excellence.

“These achievements reflect the resilience and strong will of the students, many of whom overcame significant hardships to continue their studies,” the spokesperson added.

The felicitation event was organised in Bishnupur district, where officials from the Indian Army and the civil administration interacted with the students and their families.

The officials lauded the perseverance of the candidates and acknowledged the crucial support extended by their parents throughout the journey. The event also served to highlight the broader impact of the Super-50 initiative on community development and youth empowerment.

In the JEE 2025 exam, 13 students from the programme successfully qualified, underlining the academic strength and focused coaching imparted by the initiative.

As a mark of appreciation, prizes were awarded to the meritorious students. Parents in attendance expressed heartfelt thanks to the Indian Army for its mentorship and continuous guidance.

Reaffirming its dedication to youth development in the region, the Army said initiatives like the ‘Manipur Super-50’ not only open doors for deserving students but also foster social progress and lasting peace in the region.

“This celebration represents hope, collective effort, and the extraordinary potential of Manipur’s youth,” said the defence PRO.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were Bishnupur Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam, Superintendent of Police Ravi Kumar Ksh, and NIEDO Director Rohit Shrivastava. (Edited)
