Agartala, January 16, 2019: The final electoral rolls of Tripura have been published today with net increase of 1.45 percent voters in comparison to the draft electoral rolls.
While announcing this, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sriram Taranikanti said, “During the special Summary Revision this year, names of 18, 719 voters were deleted and 55, 969 names of electors were included. Besides, 16,091 names were corrected.”
“As per the final photo electoral rolls published today, there are 25,98,290 electors – 13,17,150 males, 12,81,127 females and 13 third genders – in Tripura.
The number of new voters is 33,185. The rolls have registered 1.45 per cent (37,250 voters) net increase in comparison to draft electoral rolls published in September last year.,” said the Chief Electoral Officer.
According to the CEO, there are highest 57,741 voters in 14-Badharghat (SC) assembly constituency and the constituency with least 35,372 electors is 43-Karbook (ST).
As per schedule, the final photo electoral rolls have been made available in all designated locations- 3324 polling stations, all Tehshil offices all offices of the Electoral registration Officers (SDMs) and District Election Officers (DM and Collectors) for inspection of public in general, the CEO added.
Meanwhile, Voter Awareness Forums in government/ non-government organizations have been launched today at both state and district levels, he said.
