Agartala, May 29, 2019: Three persons including a woman along with five pistols were nabbed today by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) from Deoghar-Agartala Express.
The woman- Sailo Rani Chakma (33) of Nutan Bazar and two youths- Vinod Debbarma (28) and Laurence Debbarma (29), both resident of Golaghati, were nabbed in connection with arms smuggling.
Giving details, Assistant Commandant of RPF A.K. Singh said that based on secret inputs, a team of RPF had boarded the Agartala-bound Deoghar Express from Dharmanagar this morning.
The team of RPF personnel, he said, carried out search and identified the lady inside the train at a place near Ambassa railway station.
In the meantime, RPF received information that two youths were waiting at Agartala railway station to receive the arms.
“When the train reached Agartala railway station, the RPF personnel held the lady along with the two youths. During search, the RPF men found five pistols, six empty magazines, cash and an ATM card from the woman,” Singh told the reporters at Agartala RPF post.
After preliminary interrogation, the RPF personnel of Agartala Post came to know that the lady had boarded the train from Lumding to deliver the arms to the two youths.
