The BCCI Women’s Selection Committee has revealed the Indian squad for the upcoming three-match T20Is and ODI series against Bangladesh, scheduled to commence on July 9.

The team includes newcomers such as wicketkeeper Uma Chetry, left-arm spinner Rashi Kanojiya, and all-rounders Anusha Bareddy and Minnu Mani (only for T20Is). However, notable omissions from the squad are Shikha Pandey, Radha Yadav, and Rajeshwari Gayakwad.

All six matches between India and Bangladesh will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur. The T20I matches are scheduled for July 9, 11, and 13, followed by the three ODIs on July 16, 19, and 22. The ODIs are part of the 2022-25 ICC Women’s ODI Championship cycle, which involves ten teams competing to secure qualification for the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup, to be hosted by India.

In the current standings, India sits atop the table with 12 points, having won all six matches in the tournament so far. On the other hand, Bangladesh is placed eighth with three points, having suffered defeats in series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Notably, four matches involving Bangladesh were abandoned due to rain.

India’s last international appearance was during the Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa in February, where they lost to Australia by five runs in the semifinals. The Indian side, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will aim to perform strongly in the upcoming series against Bangladesh.

India’s T20I squad comprises Harmanpreet Kaur (captain), Smriti Mandhana (vice-captain), Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia (wicketkeeper), Harleen Deol, Devika Vaidya, Uma Chetry (wicketkeeper), Amanjot Kaur, S. Meghana, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Anjali Sarvani, Monica Patel, Rashi Kanojiya, Anusha Bareddy, and Minnu Mani.

Meanwhile, the Indian ODI squad features Harmanpreet Kaur (captain), Smriti Mandhana (vice-captain), Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia (wicketkeeper), Harleen Deol, Devika Vaidya, Uma Chetry (wicketkeeper), Amanjot Kaur, Priya Punia, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Anjali Sarvani, Monica Patel, Rashi Kanojiya, Anusha Bareddy, and Sneh Rana.
