February 26, 2018: UAE government’s forensic report says, veteran cine actor Sridevi died of accidental drowning. According to the Forensic Report, traces of alcohol were also found in the blood.

The Report suggests that Sridevi died of accidental drowning in the bathtub of her hotel apartment after losing consciousness. Initial reports suggested that she died of cardiac arrest. Meanwhile, Dubai Police has transferred the case to local Public Prosecution, which will carry out regular legal procedures followed in such cases.  The actor’s body will only be released on advise of the Public Prosecution. Indian Consulate is currently working closely with the local authorities to expedite the repatriation procedures.
