Agartala, September 02, 2019: Hundreds of residents of Radhanagar area of Agartala today staged a road blockade during office hours protesting irregular supply of water. Vehicles on both sides of the road remain stranded.
The residents alleged, water supply remained suspended in the area for last 4 to 5 days affecting about 80 families of the locality. One of the agitators held DWS officials responsible and alleged, several pleas were made by the Local Ward office to concerned DWS – however, DWS did not take any action to address the problem and solve the prevailing water crisis in the area.
Later, Police assured agitators and persuaded them to withdraw the road blockade. Traffic returned to normalcy after an hour.
