Agartala, August 31, 2019: The State government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the PRATHAM Education Foundation of Mumbai. This Organization will impart trainings to teachers. According to MoU, the contract was signed for two years. Addressing a press conference, Education Minister Ratanlal Nath said this and added, the PRATHAM Education Foundation would play an important role in teachers’ training.
“The foundation already imparted training to 280 key resource persons. Besides, 17,842 teachers were also trained in this regard. Today’s MoU was signed for imparting further trainings to the teachers of 4349 schools. The pact has been inked for two years,” Nath told the Reporters at Civil Secretariat today.
“The members of PRATHAM Foundation will not get any honorarium for the teachers’ training. The state government has to bear only the costs of transport, accommodation and foods at Rs. 15.32 lakh per year,” he said.
SCERT director Uttam Kumar Chakma and Shailendra Sharma of the Foundation signed the MoU in presence of others. The Foundation already worked with the Education departments of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and many other states.
