Already banned Tik-Tok application, became talk of a sub-division Town in Tripura on Monday. When Tik-Tok was a hit, two minor avid users of the application got acquainted with each other. And ultimately, the girl from Teliamura in Tripura stepped out of her home for the boy who hailed from Madhya Pradesh. The girl – a minor eloped. The incident occurred around three months ago.
Sources said, a minor girl who had eloped from her home located at Khowai district’s Teliamura, was traced down at Madhyapradesh after three months of rigorous investigation. She had been reunited to her family on Monday after a police team brought her back home, police said.
Police sources said the girl fell for another minor boy who hailed from Madhya Pradesh. They were introduced to each other through a Tik-Tok, a banned social media and small video platform. As time passed, their relationship deepened and on January 29 last, she eloped with the minor boy from her house at Teliamura’s Moharcherra. On January 30, the parents of the girl filed an FIR with the local police station.
“After primary investigation, police succeed to get its first breakthrough in the case as a phone number. From the telecom service provider, the police came to know that the phone number belonged to some person who originally belonged to Bhojpur Madhya Pradesh. Further investigation revealed that the phone number belonged to the minor boy”, a police official said.
Wasting no time, a police team from Teliamura left for Madhya Pradesh and traced the minor couple at a rented room in Bhojpur.
The police team rescued the girl and brought her back home. On the other hand, the minor boy was arrested by Madhya Pradesh police. She had been handed over to her parents after necessary medical treatment. Both of them admitted that they first came to know each other through Tik-Tok. Although Tik-Tok is banned now, the ripple effect it created still could be felt.
