The government is trying to improve the quality of all the hospitals in the state. For this, first of all, it is necessary to strengthen the relationship between the doctor and the patient.
Doctors and health workers should be polite to common patients as well as people should have a respect for the doctors and health workers. If trust on doctor increases, referrals for minor cases will decrease significantly, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said at Kalyanpur under Khowai District on Wednesday.
“We want to make Tripura the Shrestha Tripura. The Prime Minister is with us. So I believe it will be possible to provide specialist doctors in Kalyanpur hospital in the coming days” Dr Saha said after inaugurating the newly constructed building of Kalyanpur Community Health Center and Staff quarters today.
During today’s inauguration programme, the Chief Minister also felicitated the elder son of late Jogesh Bhattacharjee of Khowai district who donated the land for building hospital. Besides, he also felicitated headmasters of three schools that completed 100 per cent Covid vaccination among the students responding to the call of the Prime Minister.
Emphasizing for a mutual trust between the doctors and patients’ families, Dr Manik Saha said the State and central governments are sincere in improving the healthcare delivery system. He also appealed to people seeking their participation in the Anti-Addiction drive.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated a blood centre at Teliamura sub-divisional hospital and also inspected several departments of the hospital.
During the inspection, he interacted with the doctors and health workers to know about the issues that the hospital authority is facing.
“One lakh 70 thousand people of this area will benefit from the newly opened blood center which has a capacity of storing 50 units of blood. This centre was set up at a cost of Rs 26 lakh”, Dr Saha said.
He also said the government has initiated a plan to introduce a surgical unit in Teliamura Sub-divisional hospital.
