Agartala, August 12, 2019: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi went on hiking with Bear Grylls, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb keenly followed every move, expression and thought of the Prime Minister relating to conservation of nature. Starring with Bear Grylls in ‘Man vs Wild’ show which went on air tonight on Discovery channel, Narendra Modi revealed his views on environmental conservation and climate change. Tripura Chief Minister did not miss the opportunity to note down PM’s thoughts on the pressing issue and preserving mother Nature.
Biplab Kumar Deb’s keen observation has a significant relevance in the context of Tripura. The State is known for its rich biodiversity. However, apathetic attitude of the government agencies coupled with mindless deforestation is threatening the environmental and ecological balances – in fact, imbalances in ecology would not affect the wild animal but also larger section of indigenous people.
In Tripura, indigenous people have a deep rooted connection with nature – most of the traditions, rituals and cultural heritage of indigenous people linked with surrounding environment and ecology. After watching “Man vs Wild’, the Chief Minister made significant comment .
In a social media post, Deb said, “Watched PM @narendramodi ji at @DiscoveryIN’s #ManVsWild show hosted by @BearGrylls, where PM has expressed his ideas about conservation of environment, forest & wildlife.
It was a great learning experience for us to know about PM Modi ji’s life experiences and his vision for India.”
