Tripura government offers jobs to 18 family members of pre-2018 political violence victims, with 39 applications under review. Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced the initiative, highlighting the state’s commitment to supporting affected families through a dedicated scrutiny committee.
Agartala (Tripura), June 21: The Tripura government has extended support to families affected by political violence before 2018, offering government jobs to 18 individuals based on applications received, announced Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath during a press conference at the Secretariat on Saturday.
It may be noted, BJP formed Government in Tripura in 2018 Assembly poll defeating CPIM-led Left Front Government. The BJP-led Government took a decision to extend assistance to the families of victims of political violence before 2018.
Addressing the media, Minister Nath revealed that 39 applications have been submitted by families of victims seeking employment. To ensure fair evaluation, the government established a dedicated Scrutiny Committee for Assessing Applications for Employment to Families of Victims of Political Violence, chaired by Nath himself.
On June 19, the committee convened to review the applications, with eight additional families recently submitting requests for jobs. The committee will soon present its findings to the state government for further action.

Nath emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting families impacted by political violence between 1983 and 2018. “This step underscores our dedication to upholding democratic values by aiding those who suffered due to political conflicts in the state,” he said.
