The second Bangladesh Film Festival 2022, Agartala was inaugurated at a city hotel on Wednesday.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Youth Affairs, Sports and Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Bangladesh Government Dr Hasan Mahmud, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Agartala Arif Mohammud and other dignitaries were present in the programme.
The Festival has been organized by the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Agartala.
Taking part in the programme, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said geographical boundaries can never be a hindrance in fostering mutual cordial relationships.
In a social media post, Deb wrote, “Welcomed Hon’ble Minister of Information and broadcasting of Bangladesh Dr. Hasan Mahmud Ji and presented him with a memento and attended 2nd Bangladesh Film Festival 2022 at Agartala along with Hon’ble Minister of ICA Sushanta Chowdhury Ji.”
“In view of the availability of industry friendly facilities and formulation of outline for long term planning through ‘Lakhshya 2047, a huge opportunity has been created in Tripura for investments and industrial ventures by the entrepreneurs of Bangladesh.
Deb also said there is immense scope in Tripura for film making. In this connection he pointed out Tripura is emerging as commercial corridor in the Northeast with the opening up of new horizons in transport and communication including waterways and railways.
Referring to cordial bilateral relationship between both the countries, the Chief Minister said, Tripura and Bangladesh have a lot in common in their culture and such an event like Film Festival is a big step towards enhancing harmony in the region through mutual cultural exchange.
“With the sincere efforts of the two Prime Ministers of India and Bangladesh, the long-standing cordial relationship is successfully being reflected now in the development of culture and commerce”, Deb opined.
