The two-day long 2nd Joint State Biennial Conference of Tripura Gramin Bank Officers’ Union (TGBOU)  and Tripura Gramin Bank Employees Association (TGBEA) started at Agartala Dasharath Deb Memorial Hall on Saturday.

On the first day of the conference, president of All India Regional Gramin Bank Employees Association C. Rajiban inaugurated the state conference in presence of the Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank Mahendra Mohan Goswami, General Secretary of the National Federation of RRB Officers Abdul Saeed Khan, employees and officers of the bank.

During the programme on Saturday, the speakers mainly discussed enhancing the bank loan recovery and referred to the inflation issue steaming from the price rise of fuel and essential commodities.

The speakers pointed out the failure of loan recovery by a giant section of much-hyped bank customers which they called ‘sin’ and considered this as the reason for the country’s economic crisis.

They however pitched and urged upon the people to get acknowledged with the banking system in a proper manner and help aid growing the country’s economy.

A total of 439 delegates of TGBOU and TGBEA attended the conference and presence of women was noticeable, sources said.

After the 1st day of the two-day conference, a 35-member Executive Committee of the TGBEA was formed in which Krishanu Das was selected as the president and Ratna Banerjee became the general secretary. Besides, new members as well as the retired staff were felicitated.

The second day of the conference will commence with the convention of the ‘Mahila Cell’.
