The remaining personnel who fell ill are being treated within the confines of the camp after receiving initial medical aid.

Each affected BSF jawan had undergone tests for malaria and typhoid, with two of them testing positive for typhoid.

Unakoti District Health and Family Welfare Officer, Dr. Shankh Shubhra Debnath told the media that the BSF jawans began experiencing symptoms such as stomach aches and headaches on Wednesday morning, all of which point towards food poisoning.

Promptly after being informed about the incident and suspecting a case of food poisoning, the Food Safety Officer and other officials rushed to the BSF camp to collect samples for further investigation.

Dr. Shankh Shubhra Debnath informed the media that the condition of all the jawans is currently stable.

The Latiapura camp houses a significant number of over a hundred BSF jawans. The occurrence of a large-scale illness among them caused considerable alarm and commotion in the area.

Authorities are actively engaged in determining the cause of such a situation and to prevent any further health risks to the BSF personnel.

Local administration, health department officials, and BSF authorities are collaborating closely to address the situation effectively and provide the necessary care to the affected jawans.
