Agartala (Tripura) Aug 20: The state’s prestigious Maharaja Bir Bikram College (MBB College) will officially be inaugurated as Maharaja Bir Bikram University on August 31.

To mark the occasion, a formal ceremony will be held at 12 noon on the same day, which will be attended by Governor Tathagata Roy, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, and Higher Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, University Vice-Chancellor Gautam Kumar Basu stated that a preparatory committee has been formed for the inauguration ceremony.
He further informed that academic courses in four subjects have already commenced at the university from August 10, with 122 students having enrolled so far.
