It is a proud moment for the law enforcement community of Tripura as seven police officers and a Home Guard have been recognized and honored on the occasion of India’s Independence Day.
President’s Police Medals for Meritorious Service
DIG (Crime & Int.) Krishnendu Chakravertty has been bestowed with the distinguished President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service, also known as the Indian Police Medal.
Joining him in the ranks of excellence are six other police personnel, who were also conferred with the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. The recipients in this category are Sudarshan Das, Assistant Commandant of the 7th Battalion TSR, Raju Das, Naib Subedar (General Duty) of the 6th Battalion TSR, Pintu Das, Naib Subedar (General Duty) of the 9th Battalion TSR, Paban Debnath, Havildar (Operations) of the 9th Battalion TSR, and Babul Ghosh, Head Constable (Armed Branch) of KTDS PTA.
Acknowledging the indispensable role played by Home Guards in maintaining public safety, Pandit Sarkar, a Home Guard, was honored with the Home Guard and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service.
Rajib Sutradhar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Khowai), stood out for his exceptional investigative skills. He was conferred with the prestigious Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation for the year 2023.
