Rajya Sabha MP from Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb will hit campaign trails for ensuing 2023 Assembly Polls in the State. He will start campaign for the party on Sunday (Dec 25).
Soon after the winter session in Parliament was over on Friday (Dec 23), Deb returned State and held a press conference in Agartala on Saturday. Speaking to the media, he announced that he would start campaigning and reaching out to common people from Sunday.
Biplab Kumar Deb, as the president of the Tripura Pradesh BJP, launched a massive campaign against the erstwhile ruling party CPIM and he played a crucial role in forming public opinion against the leftists and translating the opinions to votes for BJP.
He told the media persons, “As the winter session of the Parliament concluded, I will now reach out to the people like I did before 2018. We need Modi ji. Without Modi ji, there will be no opportunity for infrastructural development or educational development in Tripura. The people of Tripura will have no dream without Modi ji.”
The Rajya Sabha MP further said, “The prosperous future of Tripura can be built under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are determined to continue the all-round development of the state and establish a government with more public confidence in the upcoming assembly elections”.
In today’s press meeting, Biplab Kumar Deb also reiterated Government’s all out drives against the addiction. He said, “The current government’s commitment to make Tripura drug-free has yielded remarkable success. According to the recently published national statistics, Tripura ranks at the top in success against drug. The status of North Eastern states has been secured by Modiji’s earnestness and the states have been linked to the core development of the country. Women’s rights have been secured”.
Referring to his maiden appearance in the Parliament as a Rajya Sabha MP, Biplab Kumar Deb said discussion on issues pertaining to Tripura took place almost every day during the 12-day winter session that ended on December 23.
Moreover, sincerity of the Central government to issues of Tripura was reflected as discussion on Agar Sector in Tripura was held in the House for around two-and-half hours.
Deb also highlighted several other Tripura-centric issues like ASI circle Office in the State, reopening of Border Haat and early completion of works of other Border Haats, commissioning the Maitri Setu, Sonamura-Daudkandi waterway connectivity, completion of Kailashahar airport and release of Tripura’s share from the NEC funds.
Apart from Tripura, Deb also raised the issue of hooch tragedy in Bihar.
