Inspired by the ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Self-reliance’, Tripura State Rifles (TSR) Jawans have gained expertise in making essential products along with discharging their professional responsibilities, said Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb while visiting the 2nd Battalion TSR headquarters at Khayerpur near Agartala on Saturday. Among others, Speaker of the State Assembly Ratan Chakraborty accompanied him.

 

“Troopers of the 2nd battalion TSR are preparing various packaged food items maintaining health hygiene like cumin powder, besan powder, Atta etc.”, Deb said.

 

TSR-Vocal-for-local-Tripura-NewsAfter inspecting the production facilities of the packaged food, the Chief Minister said, “In addition to the traditional work, creativity is conducive to healthy thinking. The troopers have set a shining example of excellence in a variety of spheres, including social programs, agriculture, gardening, beautification and cultural activities”.

 

He hailed the creative and positive focus of the TSR jawans.

 

During his visit, Deb interacted with brave TSR Jawans and inspected the basic amenities of the camp. He asked the concerned officials to expedite all the developmental works of the camp.

 

“The State Government is considering the issue of the retirement age of TSR and other issues of interest with a positive mindset”.

 

The Chief Minister also referred to the achievement of Prasenjit Natta, son of a Habildar at the 2nd battalion Bishu Natta. Deb congratulated Prasenjit Natta for cracking the Tripura Public Service (TPSC) examinations

 

He also went to the Martyrs’ Minar at the 2nd Battalion TSR HQ Khayerpur and paid humble tributes to brave-hearts of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) who became martyred while serving the public. The state remains indebted to their selfless service and supreme sacrifice, Deb said.
