Gist: The visit highlights youth empowerment, felicitation of Republic Day 2026 participants, and civil-security synergy in Haflong.
Dharmanagar, Mar 7: Assam Rifles DIG, Nishant Chandel, visited Haflong in Dima Hasao on March 6 and held a meeting with Ripunjoy Kakoti to review the prevailing security situation in the district.
During the interaction, the officers discussed issues related to maintaining peace and stability in the region and emphasized the importance of close coordination and synergy among various security and civil agencies.
As part of his visit, Brig Chandel also interacted with students and volunteers of AROH (A Ray of Hope) Society, a welfare NGO working in the district.
Addressing the gathering, he encouraged the youth of Dima Hasao to pursue higher education and explore diverse career opportunities to contribute positively to society and nation-building.
On the occasion, the DIG felicitated two young students from the district who proudly represented Dima Hasao at the Republic Day Parade 2026.
Their achievement was appreciated as an inspiration for other young students in the region to strive for excellence.
The visit highlighted the continued efforts of Assam Rifles to strengthen civil–security cooperation while also engaging with local communities and encouraging the aspirations of the youth in the hill district.
