The barbarians, who silenced the opposition by killing people, have no place in Tripura, commented Chief Minister of Tripura Dr Manik Saha at Gandachhera on Monday after paying tributes to BJP activist Chan Mohan Tripura who was murdered before the 2018 Assembly polls –  during the previous Left Front Government.   

Dr Saha was speaking at an event organized commemorating the death anniversary of Chan Mohan Tripura – a BJP activists and an elected member of Dalapati Village Council under Raima Valley Assembly Constitution in Gandachhera sub-division.

In a social media post, Dr Saha said Today (December 26) paid tribute to BJP Karyakarta & elected representative of Dalapati village council- Chan Mohan Tripura, a victim of CPI-M’s political terror, during a programme organised by Raima Valley mandal. On this day in 2016, he was brutally killed by left front-backed miscreants.

He alleged Left Front backed goons murdered Chan Mohan in gruesome manner.

Continuing his tirade against the Left Front, Dr Saha alleged, “Murder, violence, arson and depriving people of their rights were the activities of communists. Those who protested against their misrule were silenced. BJP activist Chan Mohan Tripura was also brutally murdered”.

He also said, people do not believe in murder and violence, people want development. So everyone is with the BJP. Dr Saha cited huge attendance in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent public meeting in Agartala as a testimony of people’s support for the BJP.

Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma also paid tributes to Chan Mohan Tripura. In a Facebook post, Dev Varma wrote, “On the death anniversary of Shaheed Chan Mohan Tripura, a devoted worker of Bharatiya Janata Party, I pay my respects to him. Let Saheed Chan Mohan Tripura remains immortal”.

Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb also paid homage to Chan Mohan Tripura. In a social media post, Deb wrote, “My humble tribute to Shaheed Chan Mohan Tripura, a devoted functionary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who was brutally murdered and fell victim of political vendetta during the previous government’s tenure”.

Besides, Union MoS Pratima Bhowmik, MP Rebati Tripura and several State BJP leaders recalled Chan Mohan Tripura on his death anniversary.
