Basanti puja : Covid norms ignored
Defying the Covid protocols, the people of Santirbazar are gathering in large numbers at Basanti Puja organized by Deshbandhu Club. Sources said that most of the devotees were found moving at pandal premises without wearing masks on the occasion of Nabami Puja today. They were enjoying a cultural programme on the occasion of Puja without maintaining any social distance. However, the administration is reportedly maintaining the role of a silent spectator.
Informed sources expressed concern at the gross violation of Covid appropriate behavior.
Poor BSNL service irks Ampi people
Resentment among the people of Ampinagar is brewing over poor mobile services provided by BSNL. Both the calling and internet services of BSNL are in pathetic condition and subscribers are facing trouble.
Some of the subscribers alleged, “We are facing a constant problem due to third class BSNL service throughout the years here at Ampi Nagar. Very often signal goes missing, so is the case of BSNL internet. Most of the time internet connectivity remains elusive or extremely slow”.
In view of poor BSNL services, it is essential that the concerned department take the necessary corrective step for the benefit of people availing BSNL services, said one villager.
With the Covid threat is looming large, many students are trying to access the internet in Ampi area for studies. However, due to erratic net connectivity students are facing extreme difficulty.
Power cut: Consumers gherao TSECL at Kalyanpur
Irked by frequent power cuts during summertime, the consumers of Kalyanpur area gathered the TSECL office at 8-30 p.m. on Tuesday. About 50 dwellers of different areas gheraoed the TSECL staff and vented anger yesterday. Coming under pressure, TSECL Staff rushed to the spot and rectified the fault. But they did not pay heed to the call of consumers since 2 p.m. today.
Meanwhile frequent power cuts is continuing during the last 15 days at different areas including Totabari, Ghilatoli ghat, Gojakha areas.
