In the run up to the elections in Village Councils under the Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), BJP received a major boost in Majlishpur Constituency on Monday.

Triggering slides in other parties, 860 voters formally joined BJP and Tripura ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury who is an MLA from Majlishpur, welcomed the new entrants to the BJP today in presence of state president of BJP Janajati Morcha Bikas Debbarma and other local leaders.

Buoyed at the joining of large number indigenous voters, Sushnata Chowdhury attributed the ideals of nationalism and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision as the reasons that inspired the Janajati people.

Most of the 860 voters are from regional parties like Tipra Motha and IPFT while some were from the CPM.

The new entrants are from six village councils- Chargharia, Uttar Joynagar, Paschim Barjala, Madhavbari, Kaiyachandbari and Bishrambari under Majlishpur constituency, Chowdhury told the media.

The ideals of nationalism inspired the Janajati people to join BJP – a national party. Moreover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sab ka Saath, Sab ka Vikas’ mantra also had a positive impact on the Janajati people.

The new comers have decided to severe political affiliation with other parties and join BJP to work for the welfare of the State as well as the country resting a good faith on the Prime Minister’s welfare and developmental activities, Chowdhury said.

The Minister also pointed out that earlier, efforts were made to keep the Janajati people away from the BJP by misleading them – however, the Janajati people foiled such efforts and started joining BJP in large numbers quitting other parties. Today’s joining is an indication of more such big joining in the State.

People are increasingly becoming aware that interests and development of the common people and Janajati people could have been ensured by the BJP only, local party leaders opined.
