Tripura and other Northeastern states are on the brink of receiving state-of-the-art security education, which will create numerous employment opportunities for the region’s youth. Kunwar Vikram Singh, the Chairman of the Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI), made the statement during a press conference held in Agartala on Sunday.

National president of CAPSI VV Katti and National secretary general Mahesh Sharma were also present in the press briefing.

Singh informed the media that eight ‘Centers of Excellence’ – one in each of the eight Northeastern states – will be established to provide top-quality training to youths for security guards and officers. In addition, at least one Aviation Academy will be constructed in the region to offer aviation-related courses to Northeastern youths, enabling them to become pilots, air hostesses, mechanics, and aviation security personnel.

A day-long ‘North East Security Education and Global Employability Conclave’ will be held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala on Monday (April 10). The conference will focus on key issues such as promoting security courses of international standards, generating employment, women’s empowerment, and contributing to the growth and prosperity of the entire Northeastern region.

Union Minister of Culture, Tourism, and DoNER G Kishan Reddy will be addressing the conference, along with Union MoS for MSME Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Union MoS for the Ministry of External Affairs and Education, RK Ranjan Singh Union MoS for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik and Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will represent in the conclave.

During the press conference, Singh highlighted the growing demand for security guards and officers both nationally and internationally. He said that there is a serious manpower crisis in the sector, and several European countries and the USA are looking to hire youths from India. He further said, in view of growing demand, CAPSI is collaborating with different government organizations to offer employment opportunities to Northeastern youths in the private defence sector.

Singh also drew attention to the fact that the Rastriya Raksha University in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, is open to candidates seeking employment in the private defence sector. He emphasized the need to establish state-of-the-art training institutes in the Northeastern region to address the shortage of skilled manpower in the sector.

The proposed Centers of Excellence and Aviation Academy in the Northeastern region are expected to offer state-of-the-art training to youths and create employment opportunities, contributing to the growth and development of the region.
