Coronavirus is slowly returning in Tripura as the number of active patients during the last few days increased to 10 on Tuesday (April 18). Only one of the infected persons had a travel history.
As per the AIR News bulletin, till now a total of 10 corona-infected patients have been detected in the state, out of which 5 in the Unakoti district, 4 in the West Tripura district and 1 corona-infected patient in the North Tripura district.
Director of Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine Department Dr. Radha Debvarma said one of the infected persons returned to Tripura after traveling to Maharashtra. He said that the number of Covid tests has been increased to identify corona-infected patients.
Besides, home isolation of corona-infected patients has been made mandatory and arrangements will be made to send them to the hospital if the condition is critical. He requested the administration to take measures to implement the covid appropriate behavior in the State like the use of masks and maintaining social distancing.
Meantime, the health department has taken various precautionary measures in the Unakoti district to deal with Covid infection and protect public health. Unakoti district CMO Dr. J V Darlong said today that till now five active Corona patients are receiving treatments remaining in home isolation. All five patients hail from Nabinchhara of Pecharthal in the Unakoti district.
He said that necessary medicines including pulse oximeters have been given to the infected persons. Dr Darlong asked the authorities of all hospitals and health centers in the district to conduct Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) for those who come for treatment with symptoms like fever, cold, and cough. He said that Kailashahar Hospital has ten beds and Kumarghat Hospital Covid Care has ten beds.
