Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) minister of Tripura, Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday challenged CPM state secretary Jitendra Choudhury to prove latter’s allegation that some of the cabinet members are involved in taking commissions from contractors and suppliers.
The ICA Minister said if Jitendra Choudhury fails to provide any substantial evidence supporting his allegation, he should either seek public apology or be ready to face legal actions.
Speaking to reporters here at Civil Secretariat this evening, Sushanta Chowdhury said, “The CPM state secretary raised allegation that some ministers of the state cabinet are collecting commission of 6 to 15 percent from the contractors and suppliers.”
The ICA Minister continued and told the media, “It’s a serious allegation and Jitendra Chaudhury has to prove it or else we will take legal action against him. The matter has already been discussed with the Law department.”
On behalf of the government, the ICA minister said if Chaudhury fails to prove the allegation, he has to seek unconditional apology to the Government, the members of the State Cabinet and the people of the State, otherwise legal action against the CPM leader would be initiated.
Strongly condemning the comment of the CPM state secretary, the ICA minister said, “Our government is transparent and the recent TSR recruitment is the example. We maintained transparency that’s why many of the left supporters got the job.”
Moreover, to ensure transparency jobs were provided through TPSC, bogus ration cards were identified and cancelled, public distribution system improved during our regime, the Minister said.
The ICA Minister alleged CPM is trying to mislead people.
