The COVID19 death toll in Tripura continued to rise as five more deaths have been reported in the state on Tuesday. The fatality rate now stands at 0.90 percent while the death toll has now increased to 83.
Meanwhile, the one-day figure of positive cases has crossed the 300-mark yet again. More 329 positive cases have been reported on Tuesday, taking the tally to 9194. It seems the apprehension of health experts— the spread of novel coronavirus in community level—is turning true gradually.
Though, the health units, according to official sources, are taking all precautions and trying their best to tackle the situation, the reports coming from various sub-divisions are claiming that a section of people were still maintaining lackadaisical attitude in obeying the guidelines prescribed by the Health department.
Meanwhile, some people also viewed that the gatherings in large numbers mostly in political programmes are leaving an opportunity to novel coronavirus and increasing the risk of transmission. In this context, there is a common demand among the people, specially in the city, so that the administration goes whole hog to prevent violation of the government guidelines by any individual or political party. It is worthy to mention here that several parts of the state had witnessed such gatherings in the name of protests or other forms amidst the COVID19 pandemic recently.
As per the media bulletin issued by the Information and Cultural Affairs department, as many as 2,48,668 samples have been tested in the state so far– 1,28,012 in RT PCR and 1,20,656 in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
As of now, total 9194 samples have been found positive in the state while 6574 patients have already recovered—160 COVID19 patients have been discharged from various Covid Care Centres on Tuesday alone. The recovery rate stands at 71.50 percent. According to an official report, 62, 204 tests are being conducted in per million population.
