Shaurya Diwas was celebrated at Group Centre, Central Reserve Police Force, Agartala on Saturday.
On this occasion, Vijay Kumar, DIG, Tripura Sector, Agartala as Chief Guest in the presence of Narendra Kumar, Commandant and other GO’s, SO’s, OR’s were saluted in the Quarter Guard.
The Hall of Fame was visited and a special remark was made by the Chief Guest in the register of Quarter Guard stating the importance of this day. Thereafter, a Road, Barrack and a Shopping Complex situated in this Group Centre were inaugurated in the name of Shaheed Constable Usha Ranjan Debbarma, Shaheed Head Constable Sunil Debbarma and Shaheed Head Constable Mohd Amir Hussain respectively. The NOKs and family members of the martyrs also participated in this inauguration function.
Further, a Sainik Sammelan was conducted under the Chairmanship of the Chief Guest Vijay Kumar, DIG, Tripura Sector CRPF in which all the officers, Sub-ordinate Officers and Other Ranks participated. The importance of this day was discussed by the Chief Guest and the glorious history of CRPF was made aware. Further, as per direction received from Directorate General, CRPF, two personnel of 124 Battalion received Police Medal for Meritorious Service and 05 personnel of Group Centre were awarded Ati-Utkrisht and Utkrisht Seva Medal. Three retired personnel of CRPF and two serving personnel of the 124 Battalion who were awarded Police Medal for Gallantry were invited and honoured with gifts.
On the occasion of the day, a volleyball final match competition was organized between 140 Bn and 124 Bn at Group Centre, CRPF, Agartala, in which 124 Bn was declared winner. Various cultural programs/essay writing and painting competitions were also conducted on this occasion in this Group Centre, CRPF, Agartala. Bara Khana was also organized in all messes of this Group Centre.
