Tripura’s Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, conducted a thorough inspection of the state’s first Dental College on Thursday.The college is situated within the premises of IGM Hospital in Agartala. The highly anticipated academic activities are scheduled to commence on September 1, 2023.

During his visit, Dr. Saha revealed that the admission process for the Dental College has already been initiated. A promising start has been made with approximately 23 students already enrolling, most of whom are from Tripura.

This admission drive will continue, pending approval from the Government of India, as outlined by the regulations established by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Dr. Saha underlined his proactive approach by instructing the health secretary to draft a letter formally requesting the necessary confirmation from the central government.

Speaking about the imminent launch, Dr. Manik Saha expressed his contentment with the preparations that are nearing completion.

“After personally assessing the ongoing endeavors, I am immensely satisfied with the progress made. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all those who have played a pivotal role in swiftly establishing this college. Despite facing tight timelines, their dedication has been exemplary,” remarked the Chief Minister.

The Dental College’s inauguration by the Prime Minister surpassed all expectations and has set the stage for an eagerly awaited chapter in Tripura’s education landscape.

As the September 1st deadline approaches, the state eagerly anticipates the commencement of classes in the Dental College, marking a significant milestone in dental education within the region.
