Tripura police have seized huge quantity of contrabands including yaba tablets heroin, ganja and arrested seven persons in these connections from various parts of the state during the last 24 hours.
As part of the drive to make the State addiction free, Tripura Police are relentlessly chasing the contraband dealers and seizing contraband items.
According to an official press release, acting on a tip-off, Amtali police led by SDPO conducted raid in the house of Mangal Miah(29) at Matinagar and recovered 5,000 yaba tablets contained in 18 plastic bags on Wednesday. The police have arrested Mangal Miah and registered a case in this connection.
In a separate raid based on specific input, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Dharmanagar along with Officer-in-Charge Dharmanagar police station and staff detained one vehicle at Batarashi on Panisagar-Dharmanagar road and conducted search in the vehicle on Tuesday night.
During search Police seized total 20.10 grams heroin with the vehicle and arrested six persons namely- Kajal Namasudra, Santosh Das, Biki Debbarma, Rohit Debbarma, Mitan Debbarma and Raju Debbarma.
While Kajal Namasudra, Santosh Das and Biki Debbarma are residents of North Kachucherra under Kachucherra police station, the rest are hails from South Kachucherra PS-Kachucherra.
In another raid, based on a tip-off, police personnel of Kalamchoura police station led by Officer-In-Charge, conducted a raid in the house of Arab Ali of Naljala under Kalamchoura police station and seized 57 Kg ganja contained in 06 plastic sacks.
Besides, today Rs. 27,100 has been realized for violation of COVID -19 guidelines (Non wearing of mask) by the districts, the press release said.
