Education is the foremost factor for the progress of the State – if students are not properly educated, efforts for development will not succeed, Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said at Nalchar under Sepahijala on Monday.
Addressing an inauguration programme of upgradation of Laxmandhepa High School to Higher Secondary School along with Rani Laxmi Bai Atma Raksha Prashikshan, Nath also said a 3-month training for inculcating self-defence skills under the Central Scheme – ‘Rani Laxmibai Atma Raksha Prashikshan‘ will be conducted for the girl students of the district like other parts of the State.
Rani Laxmi Bai Atma Raksha Prashikshan is a self defence programme for girls introduced by the Central government.
“After the BJP-led Government assumed power, several reforms were introduced in the Education sector. Apart from introduction of NCERT syllabus, the Education department ensured setting up at least one English Medium School in every constituency.
Besides, the department has introduced vocational training facilities in 135 schools while more 70 schools are in pipeline for the same. Pre-primary facilities have been introduced in 80 schools, so far”, the Minister said.
He also mentioned that spoken English Course had been introduced in every school under the West Tripura District.
Nath also pointed out that CBSE courses have been introduced in 29 schools while the same is on card for more 71 schools.
“Today’s students are the future of society and State. To ensure a bright future, Tripura Government is committed to provide quality education to the students”, the Minister said and listed several other reforms initiated by the government.
