The evacuation process for the students from Tripura who went to study in Ukraine is underway – and they are safe so far. While a few of them have already reached Tripura, many others have crossed the Ukraine border and reached neighbouring countries.
In a tweet, Chief Secretary on Tuesday wrote, “We received a list of 32 students from Tripura studying in Ukraine.”
He further wrote, “Their Families are being contacted by respective District Administration to brief them about the elaborate arrangements made by Government of India to bring them back. There is no need to worry about their safety”.
Many of the students have crossed the border and reached neighbouring countries.
Later in a series of separate tweets, Kumar Alok wrote, “Four students from North District were in Ukrain. One has already reached Upto Silchar, another is in Romania and remaining two have taken shelter in metro station in Kyiv and are safe”.
Out of two students from Gomati district one has reached Tripura and another one is in the train to Hungary.
Out of three students from Sepahijala district one has reached Slovakia, another has reached Italy and one is still in Ukrain but safe.
Two students from the Dhalai district were in Ukraine. Both of them have crossed the border and in Romania. They will be reaching home soon.
The lone student from Unokoti District has reached home. Only one Student from Khowai district was in Ukrain who has reached Romania and is likely to reach India soon.
Out of eight students from South Tripura District, one has reached Tripura and the rest seven have crossed the Ukrain border and are on their way to India. All of them are safe. District Administration officers have met family members of each student.
