Female students not only participated in higher numbers in the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) conducted Madhyamik and Higher Secondary (HS+2) examinations but also achieved greater success than their male counterparts.

TBSE Results Out

Agartala: TBSE president Dr. Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury announced the results of the Board examinations in a press meet on Friday. He confirmed the overall pass rates at 84.18% for Madhyamik and 79.33% for Higher Secondary. The underlying data highlights a banner year for girls’ education in the state. TBSE Secretary Dr. Jaydip Bhattacharjee, along with other senior officials, attended the press conference.

Madhyamik: Girls Lead in Numbers & Success

In the Class 10 examinations, girls demonstrated a stronger presence and higher academic attainment.

  • Higher Enrollment: Out of the 32,184 total candidates, 17,415 were girls, significantly outnumbering the 14,769 boys who appeared for the exam.
  • Superior Results: The success story continued in the passing figures, with 14,774 girls (84.18%) qualifying compared to 12,320 boys (83.42%). This shows girls recorded a pass percentage that was 1.41 per cent higher than boys.
  • Sub-division Standings: Overall, the Karbook sub-division emerged as the top performer with a 91% pass rate. Jampuijala is in the second position with 97.48 per cent, while Udaipur secured the third position with 91.61 per cent. Gandacherra sat at the bottom of the scale with 68.81%.
  • School Performance: While 271 institutions celebrated a perfect 100% success rate.

HS+2: Female Students Dominate 

The trend of female excellence was equally evident in the Higher Secondary results, where girls again surpassed boys in both participation and total passes.

  • Participation Gap: The examination saw 14,195 female candidates appeared in the examinations, whereas only 12,307 male candidates appeared. Female candidates outnumbered boys by 1,888.
  • Volume of Success: A total of 11,613 girls (81%) successfully cleared the HS+2 exams, while only 9,411 boys (76.47%) managed to pass.
  • Sub-division Standings: The highest pass percentage was recorded in Jampuijala subdivision at 16 per cent. Belonia stood in the second position with 90.19 per cent, while Kanchanpur sub-division secured the third position with 90.05 per cent. The lowest pass percentage was recorded in Gandacherra subdivision at 56.85 per cent.
  • Institutional Stats: 60 schools maintained a flawless 100% passing record.

Alim, Fazil Arts & Fazil Theology

In the Madhyamik examination, there is also a special category of examinees who appear for the Alim examination. A total of 155 students appeared in Alim this year. Out of them, 141 passed, taking the pass percentage to 90.96 per cent.

It is important to note that while the Madhyamik examination is conducted for 500 marks, the Alim examination is conducted for 600 marks, and the percentage is calculated accordingly.

In the Higher Secondary level too, examinations are conducted in Fazil Arts and Fazil Theology streams.

A total of 84 students appeared in these examinations. Among them, 57 appeared in Theology and 27 in Fazil Arts. Out of the 84 candidates, 79 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 94.04 per cent.

Administrative Updates and Next Steps

For students looking to improve their standing, the “Bachar Bachao” (Save a Year) examinations are scheduled to take place in two months. Those interested in a formal review of their scores have seven days to download application forms from the official website and submit them through their respective schools.

The Board concluded by stating that official certificates and mark-sheets, documenting the impressive performance of this year’s cohort, will be distributed to schools shortly.

“Students who wish to apply for review or re-evaluation can obtain the review forms from the Board’s website after the declaration of results. Students must submit the forms to their respective schools within seven days. Schools, after compiling the applications, must submit them to the Board within ten days”, officials said.
