The government is working to transform the state into a commercial gateway, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.

Deb said, “Neshamukt Tripura campaign was announced soon after the formation of the present government and various steps were already taken to achieve the goal. The government is now working with the goal to make Tripura free of drugs and transform the state into a commercial gateway.”

He was addressing an awareness programme on Beti Bachao, Beti padhao, PDS, Road Safety and Neshamukt Tripura and a blood donation camp organized by Sadar sub-divisional administration.

Besides, Deb also criticized the role of the previous Left government and spoke on the policies and programmes of his government. He also explained the difference of works between the present and the previous governments.

“Earlier Assam- Agartala national highway was the only lifeline Tripura. Now, an alternative highway is being built,” Deb pointed out.

Highlighting some major achievements of the BJP-IPFT government, the Chief Minister said, 46 percent of the households have already been given water connection under Atal Jaldhara Mission. Besides, the budgetary allocation has also increased considerably during the tenure of the present government, he said.

Later in a Facebook Post, Deb mentioned that a scientific mechanism as suggested by the experts helped reduce the number of road accidents.

The bad impact of political influence in controlling the administration was a barrier for citizens’ services in the past, he commented. Deb also mentioned that speedy implementation of various projects and increase in the budgetary allocation had now given impetus to the overall development.
