All Health Institutions under Gomati District celebrated National Vaccination Day in a grand manner on Wednesday.
As Govt of India has declared March 16 as the National Vaccination Day to acknowledge and encourage the achievement of Vaccination teams comprising Health workers, ASHAs and AWWs who have contributed to achieving 100 per cent pulse polio immunization programme. Accordingly, the day is celebrated in 8 blocks areas under Gomati District, said Dr. Arjun Saha, District Immunization Officer, Gomati District in a press statement.
Dr Saha said, Matabari and Tepania Blocks programme were organized by Tripura Sundari SDH and was inaugurated by Chairperson, Udaipur Municipal Council Sital Chandra Majumder whereas Amarpur block and Karbook Block programmes were inaugurated by MLAs Ranjit Das and B. M. Tripura respectively.
Accordingly, Silachari, Kakraban, Killa and Ompi blocks also celebrated the programme and participated by respective health institutions. ASHAs, AWWs and Health workers are felicitated to acknowledge the services.
Total 16 nos of vaccination teams are felicitated throughout Gomati District.
Besides, as part of celebration, Gomati District also started the Covid Vaccination for the age group of 12-14 years aged childen on Wednesday.
On the first day of vaccination, the camps were organized in Gamaria HS School and Bhagini Nivedita Girls HS School known as Udaipur Girl HS School.
Dr Arjun Saha said, a total of 93 nos of student were vaccinated with the support of School Education Department. Dr. Niru Mohan Jamatia, CMO Gomati and Dr. Arjun Saha – DIO Gomati, Dr. Subhendu Debbarma, SDMO Amarpur were also present during the programme.
