Bharatiya Janata Party, MP Rebati Tripura came down heavily on regional party of Tripura, Tipra Motha and said that people of Surma, in recent by- polls sent a clear message about their preference by ensuring victory of BJP candidate.

 

He also referred to the Greater Tipra Land – the core demand of Tipra Motha – and where is the initiatives to materialize the demand.

The MP was speaking to the media at a joining program of BJP at Karamchhara under Dhalai district in Tripura on Wednesday.

 

Karamchhara BJP Mandol Committee organized mega joining programme where 495 voters from 211 families joined the BJP quitting Tipra Motha and IPFT.

 

Notables, among the new entrants, were Surajit Debbarma, General Secretary of the IPFT Central Committee, Dashenjay Reang, Manik Kaloi, General Secretary of the former Central Committee, Kabita Reang from Motha, and Anjali Rupini, Goti Chandra Reang, LCM member of the CPIM.

 

Attending the joining programme, Rebati Tripura said BJP has only two agendas in Tripura – ensuring holistic development of all and providing a good governance.

 

He added, party leaders are in touch with grass root level workers an common people to listen to their grievances and to address those issues. The MP further said people have embraced the party’s agenda and policies in the State as well as in the country.

 

“We are happy that more and more people are joining the pro-nationalist party, BJP, in the state,” he said and added all these are happening because of party’s pro-development policy which is benefitting larger section of people of the State irrespective of religion and ethnicity.

 

Relying to a question on Surma by-polls, Rebati Tripura opined the people of Surma gave a clear indication of their preference. 

 

Notably, Tipra Motha contested from Surma Assembly (SC) constituency on June 23 by-polls in Tripura by defeated by the BJP candidate, as was expected.

 

Launching a scathing attack on Tipra Motha’s Greater Tipraland demand, Rebati Tripura said, what sorts of steps Tipra Motha had taken to materialize the demand. 

 

“Just by raising a demand and doing nothing else, how can you expect to meet the demand. Tipra Motha did not pass any Bill regarding the demand in the TTAADC. Let them pass a bill where the geographical specifications and other relevant information will be available”, Tripura said.
