The greatest service to humankind can be done through blood donation. Donating blood is the greatest way to help people, which is why everyone has to come forward to donate blood, said Information & Cultural Affairs Minister of Tripura Sushanta Choudhury.
He was speaking after inaugurating the blood donation camp organized with the initiative of Champamura School Management Committee and Champamura Higher Secondary School at Champamura HS School in Bishalgarh sub-division on Wednesday (July 27).
The ICA Minister gave medals to two merit students in the program for their outstanding performance in Tripura Board Examination. Apart from that, guests present in the program have planted tree saplings on the occasion.
The ICA Minister also said there had been a lag in organizing blood donations due to the Covid-19 situation. That is being fulfilled gradually.
Even scientists to date could not find any alternative for blood. Therefore, the lives of patients can only be saved when we donate blood. Blood donation does not just save lives, but also benefits the donor’s body.
He said, the students must build themselves into good citizens besides generating compassion for humankind, love for the nation and patriotism. One must love their nation as their own mother.
Sabhadhipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Supriya Das Dutta as a chief guest and social worker Gouranga Bhowmik as a special guest also spoke on the occasion.
Others present were Sepahijala District Education Officer Habul Lodh, social worker Sudhir Choudhury and Chairman of Champamura Higher Secondary School Management Committee Biplab Ghosh. The program was presided over by Champamura Gram Panchayat Pradhan Ashtami Das.
