In a move to harness health sector in Tripura, the State council of ministers has given its nod for the recruitment of 82 positions in the prestigious Agartala Government Dental College and IGM Hospital on Tuesday (May 23).

Moreover, bolstering the rural healthcare, one Primary Health Centre in Unakoti district earned prestigious NQAS accreditation today.

The cabinet decision, announced by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on his social media platform, aims to address the staffing gaps in the dental college and hospital, ensuring the provision of quality education and medical care.

The recruitment drive will fill various roles, including the crucial positions of Principal/Dean, Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Tutors/Senior Residents, and Junior Residents. 

By augmenting the workforce in the dental college, the government intends to enhance the capacity of the institution to cater to the growing dental healthcare needs of the population.

Additionally, the cabinet led by Dr. Manik Saha has taken a proactive step by approving the establishment of a new Agri sub-division in Jubarajnagar, North Tripura. 

This initiative aims to provide improved services to the farming community in the region. With the addition of the Agri sub-division, the state will have a total of 44 such divisions, facilitating better agricultural support and development across Tripura.

Rural PHC gets  NQAS Accreditation in Tripura

In another noteworthy development, the healthcare sector in Unakoti district in Tripura achieved a significant milestone as the Machmara Primary Health Center, located in the Kumarghat Block, became the first facility in the district to receive the prestigious National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) accreditation. 

This recognition serves as a testament to the center’s unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional patient services.

Under the leadership of Dr. Shankh Shubhra Debnath, the District Health and Family Welfare Officer, the dedicated healthcare staff at Machmara Primary Health Center, including Dr. Prasenjit Chakma and Doctor Monideep Dewan, worked tirelessly for the past six months to prepare for the rigorous evaluation required for the NQAS accreditation. 

Dental-college-Tripura-NQASThe assessment, conducted by a two-member delegation from the National Health System Resource Center (NHSRC), nominated by the Government of India, took place over two days and covered various aspects of service delivery, including outpatient and inpatient departments, the labor room, general administration, laboratory facilities, and national health programs.

Following the evaluation, the findings were submitted to the State Quality Assurance Cell for review. 

Today, the district received the much-awaited communication from the State Quality Assurance Cell, officially confirming the Machmara Primary Health Center’s successful accreditation.

This landmark achievement sets a benchmark for other healthcare facilities in Unakoti district, inspiring them to strive for excellence and meet the highest standards of patient care. 

The NQAS accreditation not only recognizes the hard work and dedication of the healthcare professionals at Machmara Primary Health Center but also highlights the district’s commitment to providing quality healthcare services to its residents.

The recruitment drive in Agartala Government Dental College and IGM Hospital and the NQAS accreditation of Machmara Primary Health Center, will bolster the existing healthcare service facilities across the State.

These initiatives demonstrate the government’s commitment to enhancing the medical infrastructure and ensuring access to quality healthcare for its citizens.
