State government’s plans for improvement of infrastructural schemes for the overall development of Gandatwisa sub-division are being implemented at the cost of Rs 760 crore.
Since a long period of time, Buddhist monks have been dedicatedly working for welfare of the education sector and for the expansion of learning opportunities, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after inaugurating Bodhicariya School in Lakhipur of Gandatwisa (Gandachara) on Friday.
The Chief Minister said, education is the backbone of the community. The state government is working sincerely for the advancement of education sector. Besides this, the government is taking several steps to create income opportunities for women. The state government is paying importance on those areas or regions which were neglected in the yesteryears.
As a result of which, Gandatwisa which was once known as remote and backward area is now witnessing several developmental plans being implemented including improved roads, education facilities, quality improvement of health services, power connection, clean drinking water connection etc. the government is working on priority basis to fill the gap in the development which was created earlier in past days.
The Chief Minister said, the government has taken up different plans to build Gandatwisa into the best region. There is a huge scope for people to become financially self-reliant focusing on the Dumboor water body. Income opportunities can be generated through providing modern services in the tourist spot.
Once being posted to such area used to be perceived as a sort of punishment but due to the development being brought in this region, the mentality of people has changed.
Biplab Kumar Deb said, few roads are being constructed under Gandatwisa sub-division keepin an eye on Dumboor. Others present in the inaugural programme were Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Santana Chakma, Tribal Welfare Minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia, MP Rebati Tripura, MLA Dhananjoy Tripura, MDC Bhumikananda Reand and others.
