Amidst thunderous welcome slogans, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb landed at Dhanyaramkarbari Para helipad and walked a 2km stretch while Janajati men, women and children cheered him. It was an overwhelming and spontaneous response. Deb attended a Jana Ashirbaad Rally at Chaumanu under Dhalai District on Tuesday.
During the rally, he mingled with the common people, stopped his convoy to taste ‘Fuchka’ and interacted with the villagers to inquire about multiple issues.
According political analysts, BJP will have an easy walk in the planes as neither CPM nor Congress are in a position to put up any formidable challenge in the upcoming Assembly polls – however, a section of the analysts opined BJP would have to confront Tipra Motha in the Hill areas which counts 20 seats out of the total 60 Assembly seats.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb seems to be determined to win all the seats in Hill areas. According to critics, his passion for the Janajati people blended with verbal aggression against the opposition parties is helping to put BJP on a strong platform.
Addressing the gathering today at Chaumanu Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said, the state government is working with priority for development of indigenous section, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said on Monday.
He said that the people living in Janajati areas were misguided and kept backward for a long time due to political interests.
As the people-oriented policy of the present government replaced the previous one-party rule, now government facilities were reaching up to the last person of the society, he said.
The Chief Minister said, an increase in mandays generation under MGNREGA and women empowerment have been ensured.
“Now, it’s time to draw a comparison in terms of the development done by the previous and present governments and throw questions to those who are misguiding the people,” Deb said.
He also recalled the sacrifice of BJP leader- Nishikanta Chakma, who had been murdered due to political violence during the communist regime.
In the joining programme, Deb was accompanied by MLA Shambulal Chakma, BJP state vice-president Patalkanya Jamatia and other local leaders.
