In an attempt to assist job seekers, a Job Fair was held in Agartala on Friday.
“Tripura Government, at the relentless efforts of the Chief Minister, has taken several initiatives to open job opportunities among the unemployed youths. As everyone cannot get a government job, opportunities in private sectors have been created”, said Labour Minister Bhagaban Das.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Job Fair which was organized as part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Directorate of Employment Services and Manpower Planning along with Model Career Centre under the National Career Services Scheme of the Central Government organized the Job Fair.
A total of nine organizations of Tripura and other States took part in the Fair to recruit youths for 410 posts.
Pointing at the presence of a large number of youths in the Fair, Bhagaban Das said the mentality of job seekers is changing which is being reflected in large participation in the Job Fair for employment.
He also said, “The Government has created employment opportunities among the youths during the last four years. Besides, industries are setting up units in the State – this will further widen the job scope”.
In reference to development in industries, the State Government has launched several initiatives to attract investment and develop industries based on Bamboo, Tea, Agar, Pineapple and Rubber. Several youths are earning a decent livelihood through Horticultural product farming especially pineapple, lemon etc. With the exports of horti products, a new avenue is ushering.
Das also mentioned Government’s endeavour for empowering women through SHGs. He exuded confidence that bigger Companies will participate in such job fairs in future.
