John Jamatia, a young footballer from Tripura, has been invited to join the Indian football team for an international tournament. He is a student of Tripura Sports School and has been playing football since his childhood.
John Jamatia will represent India in the Subrata Mukherjee Cup International Football Tournament, which is a prestigious event for young players.
Tripura Sports School received a letter from the All India Football Federation, asking them to send John Jamatia for a training camp. He was selected by the selection committee based on his performance in various S M Cup national tournaments that took place in New Delhi and Bangalore between September 19 and October 23 last year.
John Jamatia was one of the players from Tripura who participated in those tournaments.
Congratulations for John started to pour in from different eminent personalities and sports fraternity.
“This is a rare and exciting opportunity for John Jamatia and for the state of Tripura. He will get to wear the Indian team jersey and play alongside some of the best players in the country. He will also get to showcase his skills and talent on the international stage”, said senior football players of the State.
Meantime, John is hopeful of making his state and his country proud by doing well in the tournament.
