A melodious and electrifying performance by Sonu Nigam enticed a huge crowd in Agartala on Friday (Dec 23).
Before Sonu Nigam rocked the audience, a mind-blowing and first-ever Drone Show in the State illuminated the sky with depictions of India and Tripura maps, Tripureswari temple, Unakoti rock-cuts etc. Around 250 drones were used to create these designs. The Drone Show was conducted by IIT Delhi.
The unique and jaw-dropping drone show set a perfect stage for Sonu Nigam to enthrall the audience – and people enjoyed the show as they were seen clapping and dancing as Sonu Nigam was showing his versatility and singing songs of different artists in his own style.
The spontaneous and lively encouragement from the audience was well appreciated Sonu Nigam.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury felicitated the singer on the stage.
The mega cultural programme came up as a part of the Khelo Tripura, Sustho Tripura campaign against the drug abuse. The mega event was held at the Swami Vivekananda ground on Friday with the initiative of the Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) department.
The Khelo Tripura, Sustho Tripura campaign was launched aiming to encourage youths of the State to take up sports and cultural activities for entertainment and generate awareness against the drug menace.
Under the initiative, several sports and cultural events were held across the State and today the State level programme was held at the Swami Vivekananda ground.
The programme started with a colourful rally in the afternoon followed by an array of cultural programmes.
Several troupes presented songs and dances highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the State. The first women’s band of Tripura, Megh Balika, also performed in the programme.
Various sports items were distributed among the clubs.
More than two-hour long programme, organized for noble cause – ending drug menace – created a joyful and positive vibe as the audience returned home after enjoying the show.
