The other name of beauty in Tripura is Dumboor Lake. The serene beauty of the lake is captivating. Information about the scenic beauty of this tourist spot must be disseminated across the country and abroad, stated Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha after inaugurating newly built Log Huts at Narikel Kunja on Monday (October 17).
It is to be noted that the construction of 23 Log Huts at Narikel Kunja started under ‘Swadesh Darshan-1’, out of which construction of 15 Log Huts has been completed so far. Total Rs 7 crore 59 lakh will be spent on this. These Log Huts have been constructed in the pattern of Canada’s wooden fabricated Log Huts. The Chief Minister also formally launched newly bought equipment for Adventure Water Sports.
The Chief Minister said tourists outside Tripura are not acquainted with tourist spots in Tripura. During the period of the previous government, there had been no efforts made towards tourism development. The present state government is working towards the overall development of tourism.
The Chief Minister said wherever he goes outside of the state, he always talks about different beautiful tourist spots of the state including Dumboor and added, the state government aims to sustain unity among communities.
The government is working in this direction. This government is the people’s government. Developmental works are being done in the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr Saha commented and said 100% success is being achieved in implementing central and state government schemes through the Prati Ghare Sushason campaign.
About 5 lakh national and international tourists have visited the state last year. He also said the government is always determined towards the overall development of the tribals. The airport has been named after Maharaja Bir Bikram, two days of the holiday have been announced on Garia Puja and steps are also being taken towards the overall development of TTAADC. Nine Super-Specialty Hospitals will be opened in Agartala Government Medical College very soon. Two medical seats have been increased. The government is working towards the development of the state’s healthcare system on the grass root level.
Dr Saha also said the government is working for the overall development of the state and the government shall also continue its work in future along with the people of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said Rs 100 crore has been spent in the last 4.5 years towards the development of tourist spots of the state and Rs 200 crore will be spent in future through ADB.
Mandirghat-Narikel Kunja road has been improved. A new helipad has been constructed. A hanging bridge will be constructed from Gandatwisa to Narikel Kunja. He also said that the development work of Tirthamukh and Bhubaneshwari Temple will be done under the Prasad scheme. Singha Roy added there is scope for loans for any tourism-related entrepreneurship with minimum interest (maximum up to Rs 5 lakh rupees) on behalf of the department.
MP Rebati Tripura said the government is continuing its efforts towards the development of the state within a bounded time as promised. He advised the locals to cooperate with tourists and provide good service. He also said total Two thousand homestays in the Northeast have been approved by the central government.
Each Log Hut has a bedroom, a drawing room, a lavatory and a balcony. There are arrangements for Jetski riding, sight-seeing, speed boating and fishing.
The Chief Minister and other guests were handed over souvenirs on behalf of the Tourism department. Besides that, loan cheques under different schemes were handed over to four Self-Help Groups under Prati Ghare Sushason.
MLA Parimal Debbarma, MDC Bhumikananda Reang, Dhalai DM and Collector U. K. Chakma and Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chandra Yadav and Secretary of the Tourism department Kiran Gitte were present in today’s programme.
